| A BRIEF HISTORY OF NIRVANA!! Nirvana started as a dream in a young boy's head...his name was Kurt Cobain! There was nothing he was more sure of in his life than the fact that he wanted to be a famous musician. He promised school friends that he would become famous and even wrote out fake interviews in his journals for magazines! He learned to play the guitar, write songs, and even tagged along to gigs with other bands in his area, just to see what being in a band was really like! He eventually decided to do something about his life long dream (although it wasn't easy to pursuit) The three then became a trio and released their first ever single 'Love Buzz' and their first ever album 'Bleach' as soon as they could. However this was just the beginning of the phenomenon called Nirvana as they went on to produce 6 more albums and many more singles!! They began to gain a fan base from all over the world and their popularity increased day by day!Nirvana's success never came easy to them, nor was it the instant fame that many expected- they spent the first few tours driving around from venue to venue in a small van that had 2 carry the band, their equiptment and their support bands! Also Kurt Cobain was still sleeping in the back of his car after being evicted from his Olympia home! It took alot of touring, publicising and hard work but soon they became one of the biggest and best bands to ever exist. Finally Kurt Cobain's dream of fame and success as a musician had become reality but he never appeared to be truly happy! |
